3 Idiots
The hilarious and touching film 3 Idiots has been freshly released in the U.S. with never before seen added bonus features. The film is already a must-have for all lovers of Bollywood films, and now with the added material, the disc becomes even more essential. The film centers around three college students, and especially the central character “Rancho” played by Aamir Khan. His character affects not only his new college buddies, but also the school’s uptight and by-the-book dean, played by Boman Irani. The film, which has become the highest grossing Bollywood film of all time, also stars Kareena Kapoor, Sharman Joshi and R Madhavan. Everything about the film is quite charming, including the story, the quirky characters, and the songs. The performances are outstanding, including some scene-stealing sketches by newcomer Omi Vaidya. 3 IDIOTS won six FilmFare Awards in India including Best Picture and Best Director. It also swept the International Indian Film Academy Awards with 16 wins. The film is flawlessly edited and directed by Rajkumar Hirani. Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment released the DVD in late April. The release highlights the special features, “Idiots in Ladakh,” “Aal Izz Well,” “100% Idiots,” and “Making of Miss Idiot.” The film is rated PG-13.
